A Swiss hotel has a luxury coronavirus-themed package that could cost up to $77,500 for a 14-day stay

In the days of quarantine and social distancing, a Swiss hotel's slogan "hotel service without the other people" has taken on a whole new meaning. Because the hotel chain Le Bijou was already set up so guests could avoid human contact, its co-founder and chief executive Alexander Hübner told Insider that it didn't take much to launch "COVID-19 Service." The service can only be described as a luxury COVID-19-themed package with options for doctor visits and food delivery. Le Bijou has 42 units — which Hübner describes as "luxury Airbnbs" — at properties in cities across Switzerland. Units have full-service kitchens and amenities like saunas, Jacuzzi's, fireplaces, and gyms, according to Hübner. Besides cleaners, the units all operate without any staff, including check-in. Hübner added that guests have a private app and remote 24-hour concierge that they can use to order meals, personal chefs, groceries, massages, cabs, and more — thoug

The last corner of Europe that's sick to death of Halloween

Dracula is asleep in his coffin. I can see him, his eyes closed, as I approach the threshold. The chamber is darkened, all traces of daylight repelled by thick velvet curtains. A candle flickers. Sepulchral organ music leaks from a source invisible in the gloom. I enter. It is a trap. My foot presses a loose board. The floor creaks. He rises, arms outstretched, sending forth a laugh that seems laced with evil. We pause, man and monster, eyeing each other. Then he utters the chilling words: “Would you like a photo?” Why I ask myself, am I here? Idle curiosity, I suppose. That, and a killing of time as I wait for my lunch to arrive downstairs at the Casa Vlad Dracul – where I have resisted ordering the Dracula Stew (a tomato-heavy casserole) in favor of a fine meaty goulash. I ponder his question and decide it would be rude to refuse – so the young man in the cape and copious eyeliner repeats his undead pose. I take a snap on my phone, and pay the five lei (£1) fee with a 10-lei no

Find Out where Brad Pitt Is Opening A $1.5 Billion Luxury Resort

Image
Now that Donald Trump is a little tied up in the White House, could we have a new A-list hotelier on our hands? Looks like it. According to  People , Brad Pitt has plans to build a luxury resort in recent international hot spot, Croatia, off the picturesque Adriatic coast. Guess he's been bored since the big split with Angie. Earlier this month the actor visited the small town of Zablace, alongside world-renowned Croatian architect Nikola Bašić, to check out the proposed site. Apparently the $1.5 billion project will result in a high-end hotel, golf course, restaurants, and shops. Sounds a little too Vegas to us, but Brad does have notoriously good taste when it comes to beautiful...um... real estate? Guess we'll just have to wait and see what values he'll bring to the tourism sector.
